This Week’s Message – “Jesus in: The Exodus”

by Pastor Dan Stockum

The Passover. The Exodus. One of the most famous stories in the history of the world. God liberates His people from slavery and 400 years of oppression through a series of miraculous events. For some, it’s a story of God’s faithfulness. For others, it can be offensive or even egregious. But perhaps, more than anything else, it’s supposed to teach about the heart of God displayed through Jesus Christ.

Scripture Focus: Exodus 12:21-32

On Monday nights beginning Oct. 24, 7:15-9:00pm, women are invited to a Max Lucado study on Ten Women of the Bible, organized by Beth Stockum and Shannon Durand. The study looks at how God used these remarkable women in the unfolding of His story, even though they were often marginalized or overlooked in their culture. Gather with women from all generations, discuss Scripture, and get to know one another better. For more information, contact Beth Stockum:

Freedom Sunday, Coming Nov. 6

Bridges has invited Dr. Eddie Byun, a professor from Biola University and the producer of Save My Seoul (the film we highlighted about a year ago), to share with us his insights and passion for ending modern-day slavery and human trafficking. Dr. Byun will share a message during our worship service on Sun., Nov. 6, and then we will have an opportunity to learn more through a Q&A session and panel discussion following the service. Joining the panel will be special guests Mae del Mundo from Restore Children & Family Services and Robynne Jeisman from Turntable Housing. We will have copies of Dr. Byun’s Justice Awakening available for purchase, and Eddie will be available to sign them. Lunch will be provided for those who RSVP in advance. Contact for more information or to RSVP. To learn more about Dr. Byun, click HERE.

Support the Restoration Ministry Music Program

We loved hearing at this year’s Sunday’s Annual Meeting how absolutely amazing Restoration Music Ministry is at reaching children in the Brazilian favelas for Christ. We as a church would like to continue helping the ministry grow by either donating instruments or providing financial support. For details about this opportunity, click HERE.
